True Potential Scholarships

We exist for one simple reason: when someone is ready to learn, work, and build a future, the door to education shouldn’t be locked.

This program began with gratitude, and with a promise to pay it forward. Our co-founders, Ross and Karen Pesek, were able to attend college because scholarships helped them take their first steps. Ross started at Central Community College and later continued his education at Wayne State College and the University of Nebraska College of Law. Karen also attended Central Community College and Wayne State College with scholarship support. They know what it feels like to be given a real chance—and how that single “yes” can change everything.

True Potential was created to pass that opportunity on to students who have the drive, the commitment, and the courage to keep going, even when the usual paths to financial aid aren’t available. We focus on helping students access quality, affordable education and move forward with confidence—one class, one credential, one milestone at a time.

Ross and Karen continue serving their community through their work at Pesek Law and through ongoing community initiatives, including a free legal clinic and leadership focused on local growth and access. True Potential operates under Matters On Tomorrow, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Because every gift carries a story, we work to make each one go further. We partner with community colleges across Nebraska and Iowa and pursue matching agreements with select schools—so support from one person can open doors for even more students.

At the heart of True Potential is a belief: potential is real, and it deserves a path forward. When we invest in students, we invest in stronger families, stronger communities, and a brighter future for everyone.
